Since spring of this year, my customers have been plagued by carburetor problems unlike anything I have seen in the past 35 years of business. Bikes coming into the shop have clogged carbs with a green moss growing in the float bowls, stopping up the jets and eating away the aluminum. Somehow the Ethanol is causing bacteria to grow virtually destroying carburetors that have set for any length of time. I personally have had to clean my KLR and DR carb jets twice in 2 months.
