TPI Clear View KLR Windshields
New! TPI Clear View windshields for the 07 and 08 models. 5mm thick, USA made, exceeding DOT requirements using Acrylic blend high impact materials that have superior optical clarity and uncoated hard surface integrity. UV inhibitors give new shield a longer life. Absolutely the best materials available. Because of the type of materials used we recommend “Novus” cleaning and polishing products to protect your shield, found on this site. We do not recommend Windex or any ammonia based cleaner.
87-07 Models
TPI Clear View Windshield is 11’’ over stock and 6’’ wider. Installs using the original mounting holes. Has upper recurve to direct wind up and over riders head creating a quieter ride at any speed. Thick 5mm shield and special shape improves stability.
PO4600-1, ................$149.00
08-UP Models
TPI Clear View Windshield installs over the stock windshield using a special hardware kit for a far superior mount with less movement. The new shape of the 08- fairing can cause excessive wind buffing but the new TPI windshield no longer requires a “buffer” hole to be cut into the windshield which can allow rain to mist the windshield and your glasses. The new adapter allows for a 1’’ clearance between the new shield and old shield which acts as a buffer creating a “quiet” pocket and eliminates wind pressure. We offer 2 heights for the 08-up, standard and tall. The proper way to size your windshield on 08-up is to measure from the ignition switch to the top of the windshield. You want the top of the shield to be just below your eye sight.
Standard model is 16.5’’ tall and the Tall model is 19’’ measured from ignition switch.
PO4600-2, Standard 16.5’’......... $139.00
PO4601-2, Tall 19’’...................... $139.00  |

Note from the TPI Tech department: We were impressed by the heavy duty wiring harness, exceptional quality plug-ins and especially by the large wires leaving the hand grips. No weak points anywhere. Absolutely the most impressive set of heated grips we have ever tested. A+
The control panel can be mounted in several places. We chose to mount it on our dash. |
Oxford Heated Grips
Over the years TPI has searched and tested several heated grips with none to our liking. Either too difficult to install or just cheaply made. Finally we have found a grip that meets our demands and we hope you are pleased with them too. Oxford heated grips Fit 7/8’’diameter handlebars with 4.75" to 4.9"-long. Maximum power consumption of 48 watts per pair (4.0 amps at 12-volt DC). Grips heat up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius). Grips are 125mm (4.9") long. Includes waterproof electronic controller with following features:
- 4 power settings (100%, 75%, 40%, 30%);
- LED indicates current power setting;
- On/Off switch with LED indicator light;
- Double-stick tape included for flush mount of controller on fairing;
- Includes bracket for mounting controller on left-side handlebar control mount bolts (pre-drilled for two M6 mounting screws spaced 31mm-35mm apart on center)
- Controller size: 56mm wide x 54mm tall x 20mm thick
Includes fused, pre-terminated wiring harness with two 1.4"/M6 ring terminals for connection to your motorcycle's battery. No wiring tools are required for installation - simply plug the grips and controller into the included wiring harness, attach two wires to your battery terminals, and the wiring is finished!
Includes a tube of high-temperature epoxy for installing grips.
Grips have bored-out ends and are designed for easy installation on bikes with bar-end weights or brush guards.
If your bike does not currently have bar ends or guards you can still install these grips, but your bar ends will remain open.
Simply put, this is the most complete, easy to install heated grip kit currently on the market, and it's available at a great price.

DID YOU KNOW
The first known motorcycle in the United States was said to be brought to New York by a French circus performer, in 1895. It weighed about 200 lb (91 kg) and was capable of 40 mph (64 km/h) on a level surface.[8] However, that same year, an inventor from the United States E.J. Pennington demonstrated a motorcycle of his own design in Milwaukee. Pennington claimed his machine was capable of a speed of 58 mph (93 km/h), and is credited with inventing the term "motor cycle" to describe his machine
DID YOU KNOW
The inspiration for the earliest dirt bike, and arguably the first motorcycle, was designed and built by the German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Bad Cannstatt (since 1905 a city district of Stuttgart) in 1885. The first petroleum-powered vehicle, it was essentially a motorized bicycle, although the inventors called their invention the Reitwagen ("riding carriage"). They had not set out to create a vehicle form but to build a simple carriage for the engine, which was the focus of their endeavours
